Court reduces Nana Agradaa’s 15-year jail term to 12 months

The Amasaman High Court has reduced the 15-year prison sentence handed to controversial evangelist Nana Agradaa to 12 calendar months.

The court ruled that although her conviction remains valid, the original punishment was harsh and excessive under the circumstances.

In its judgment, the court said the offence deserved punishment but noted that the severity of the earlier sentence was disproportionate. It therefore exercised its discretion to vary the term.

As a result, the sentence was reduced from 15 years with hard labour to 12 months in prison.

The revised sentence takes effect from July 3, 2025, the date of her conviction, meaning Nana Agradaa will serve a total of one year in custody.

Nana Agradaa was convicted earlier this year and had initially been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour by the trial court.
